[Also in Division B5] A tyre carcass of natural or synthetic unsaturated rubber containing a filler, a vulcanizing agent based on sulphur, and an accelerator is covulcanized with an elastomeric saturated ethylene-alpha-olefine copolymeric, or ethylene-alpha-olefine-nonconjugated diene terpolymeric tread having a Mooney viscosity ML (1+4) at 100‹ C. of at least 60, the tread containing an organic peroxide and sulphur as vulcanizing agents. The tread copolymer or terpolymer may be extended with a paraffinic oil to reduce its Mooney viscosity to at least 25. The filler is preferably anhydrous or hydrated silica in an amount by weight of from 20 to 100 parts per 100 parts of natural rubber. Before application of the tread the carcass is coated with an adhesive based on natural rubber and a sheet of natural or synthetic rubber containing a mineral filler and a vulcanizing agent based on sulphur and accelerators. |
