A press-button construction comprises a hollow cylindrical member of insulating synthetic resin material closed at one end but slotted to receive a metal shank member retained therein by an indicator member in the form of a snap insert of coloured resilient synthetic resin. The metal shank is either a strip bent into an inverted U-shape (Fig. 2, not shown) with arms passing through two slots, or a T-shaped strip (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) passing through a single slot. The shank is additionally retained by tangs pressed out of the arm or arms immediately beneath the slot or slots. The slot or slots extend into the wall of the cylindrical member to form shoulders under which projections on the indicator member engage to retain the latter after being snapped into position. |
