A transfer device is arranged to transfer blanks 23 from a first press to a second press in a press production line in which the phases of the presses are adjustable in accordance with the transfer time. The press-slides 3 are reciprocated by eccentrics 1 and are synchronized with the reciprocation of the transfer slide 8 which is driven by a crank 10 connected to the motor of the second press. The slide 8 has grippers 18-20 and in operation the grippers grip the blanks at the first press and at the two idle positions 21, 22 and the slide is raised and moved so that the blank from the press is over the idle position 21. The slide is then lowered to deposite the blanks. The transfer time is constant, being the quickest time possible, and the relative phase of the presses also adjusted in accordance with the size of the blank. The transfer device may be used between the presses of a press production line using more than two presses. |
