Polyester or PVC resins which can be charged to a high electrostatic potential are mixed with magnetically hard ferrites and with glass fibre and pressed into the desired from, followed polymerisation hardening. Copper, bronze or aluminium can be extruded around such a core to produce the finished conductor. The advantage of such conductors is then absorption of any surge waves, which may be produced by lightening, through the strong magnetic field. The separate earth conductors can therefore be omitted in transmission line systems. |
