摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To react a cyclic olefin with water in a suspended state of a zeolite catalyst in the liquid phase and industrially and advantageously produce the subject alcohol by preventing the zeolite catalyst from sticking to a liquid contact part in a reactor. SOLUTION: The amount of a zeolite catalyst sticking to a liquid contact part (a metal having <=50 &mu;m Ry surface roughness measured by JIS B 0601) is regulated to <=3 wt.% based on the zeolite used expressed in terms of dry weight and a washing liquid is preferably made to flow to the liquid contact part on the upper side of a gas-liquid interface during the reaction in a method for continuously feeding preferably a 3-10C cyclic olefin to a reactor holding water and the zeolite (ZSM-5s, etc.), continuously taking out the reactional product from the reactional system, separating an oil from water of the taken out reactional product, distilling and separating the oily phase containing the cyclic olefin and a cyclic alcohol and providing the cyclic alcohol from the column bottom. Thereby, the objective alcohol is efficiently obtained.
