摘要 <PICT:0987537/C1/1> <PICT:0987537/C1/2> A glass panel 12 is embedded in a frame 10 of U-section shown as a car vent window, by interposing the edge portions of the pane 12 within the frame in spaced apart relationship with the channel surface, by means of an adjustable gripping device 88, 90, Figs. 1 and 7, sealing the mouth of the space between the pane and frame by means of a pneumatic seal 146, 148, Fig. 7 of silicone rubber (heat resistant) to form a liquid-tight cavity around the pane edge portions, then filling the cavity by injecting therein heat curable polyurethane resins, heating the resins to form a thermosetting material, as by electric heaters 208, 209, 210, 211 in the clamping members 32, 34. A pair of blocks 60, 62, Figs. 1 and 5 support the frame 10 in the fixed clamp member 32. The pane 12 is adjustable in the frame by a screw stop 128, Fig. 7, which limits the movement of the mounting plate 92 on which the gripping members 106, 108 urged into gripping position by spring 104 are mounted. When the pane is positioned the movable clamping member 34 is moved into abutment with the fixed clamping member 32 by three double-acting air &c. cylinders 132, 134, 136 secured on stationary plate 30, Fig. 2, and having piston rods 138, 140, 142 bolted to plate 144, to which is also bolted sliding rods 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 which in turn are bolted to the movable clamping member 34. The bedding material is fed under pressure through flexible conduit 184 to vertically movable nozzle 186 which extends between clamp members 32, 34 in a recess 190, Fig. 8, and is positioned in line with the opening 180 in the frame, this opening being located at the volumetric centre of the cavity to fill the left and right cavity portions at about the same time, the air in the cavity being driven through the ends of the frame 10. <PICT:0987537/C1/3> <PICT:0987537/C1/4> <PICT:0987537/C1/5>
