1,242,132. Gyratory Crushers. PEGSON Ltd. 20 Feb., 1969 [8 March, 1968], No. 11322/68. Heading B2A. The crushing gap of a gyratory crusher is adjustable. The bowl 3 is adjusted by operation of hydraulic piston/cylinder support units 6 connected bewteen the base frame 1 and the bowl, and is then locked to the base frame in the adjusted position by hydraulically controlled wedges 14 arranged around the frame and movable by further piston/cylinder arrangements 16. Hydraulically-expansible metal sleeves 21 may be used in addition to clamp round telescopic couplings between the bowl and the base frame, such as the piston rods or rams 9 of the hydraulic units 6. The locking sleeves 21 may alternatively be provided around secondary rods depending from an upper frame structure 4 and slidable in the base frame 1. The wedges 14 may be normally spring-urged upwardly by discs 22. Stacks of springs 20 permit the bowl 3 to yield on entry of tramp material. |
