PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for the irregularity in the voice conversion caused by the differences in the characteristics of inputted voices. SOLUTION: An audible filter 325 extracts the sound volume level of inputted voice signals and outputs the level as sound volume data V1. On the other hand, an audible filter 326 extracts the sound volume level of the outputted voice signals and outputs the level as sound volume data V2. A differential discriminating circuit 322 compares the data V1 and V2 outputted from the filters 325 and 326 and determines a sound volume gain G and an additional distortion factor D which are to be supplied to a distortion circuit 321 in accordance with the sound volume difference between the inputted and the outputted voices. For example, if the sound volume of the output voices after a conversion is smaller than the sound volume of the inputted voices, the gain G is made larger. If the inputted voices are to be shifted to a higher pitch side and the sound volume of the inputted voices is smaller than the sound volume of the outputted voices after the conversion, it is judged that the sound volume in a higher frequency sound region is not sufficient and the factor D is made larger so as to increase the amount of higher harmonics that are added to the inputted voices. |
