PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily obtain a density conversion characteristic in density conversion processing to be applied to an original medical picture. SOLUTION: When a location in question in a medical picture displayed on a picture monitor 7 is specified by a mouse 8, the original density value of a specified pixel is automatically displayed on a graph monitor 11. When the required density value of the location in question is set up by a mouse 12, an operation control part 13 automatically finds out a new density conversion characteristic and the density conversion characteristic of a density value converting part 5 is automatically updated. A medical picture subjected to density conversion processing by the updated density conversion characteristic is displayed on the monitor 7 as an updated picture. |
