Carpet underlay is a fleece material. Preferably, it is bound by heat and comprises 70 parts rayon and 30 parts undrawn polyester fibres. An adhesive is applied pointwise and a protective foil is applied, for removal before installation, when the adhesive side is applied to the floor.
