COMBUSTION APPLIANCE VALVE ASSEMBLY

A valve assembly is provided for controlling a flow of fuel from a fuel source to a combustion appliance. The valve assembly includes a valve body having (i) an inlet passage for receiving fuel from the fuel source, (ii) an outlet passage for directing fuel to the combustion appliance, and (iii) a valve chamber in flow communication with both the inlet and outlet passages, the inlet passage, valve chamber, and outlet passage together define a flow path from the fuel source to the combustion appliance. A valve stem is movable within the valve chamber between a closed position, in which the valve stem prevents the flow of fuel from the inlet passage to the outlet passage, and a fully-open position, in which the valve stem allows the flow of fuel from the inlet passage to the outlet passage. An actuator is provided for actuating the valve stem between the closed position and the fully-open position. A stop mechanism is provided for selectively restricting movement of the valve stem beyond a partially-open position, when the valve stem is moved from the closed position to the fully-open position.
