The changing of a row of needles on a circular comb machine is considerably eased by a construction which holds each row of needles in a tapered slot by means of a tapered wedge. The needle supports are held between an angled face of the retaining plate and the wedge, the other side of the wedge forming part of the angled face retaining the next row of needles.
