Metal window frame or post connector to prevent temperature balance between outer and inner frames etc. is made from low thermally conductive material and spaces the frame components in situ. - Hollow connectors are clipped into the metal frame components using noses and recesses as appropriate, then plastics foam is pumped in to fill the cavity thus formed and rigidify the assembly, imparting it inertia and spatial stiffness. - Pref. plastic is polyurethane foam. - The connectors should have a centrally disposed stay which forces them against the walls of the metal frame components when connected. - Sealing is absolute, preventing temperature gradients in either direction.
