Ring spun yarns are produced directly from longitudinally oriented polyolefin, polyamide, polyacrylic, polyester, PVC, polyvinylidene chloride or polyvinyl alcohol foils by disintegrating the foils longitudinally following orientaton to produce cohesive fibres having at leat one fibrillated branch and one end of which forms flocks ad then supplying the fibres to a ring spinner. - It is used to form patterned yarns.
