Synthetic linear polyesters are dyed in a dyebath contng. perchloroethylene, 20-60% water, based on the wt. of textile goods and a dispersion dye of formula D-N=N-A where D may be the gps: benzene mono-substituted with NO2 or NH-CO-CH3, benzene di-substituted with combinations of CH3, OH, NO2, CN, Cl and OCH3; benzene tri-substituted with combinations of NO2, Cl, Br and CN; indole, benzisothiazole, aniline, s-triazine deriv., all substituted; and A may be substd. aniline, disubstituted benzene, substd. pyrazole, substd. indole.
