<p>Silicon carbide and boron carbide articles Uniform articles of close-packed structure and without free graphite inclusions, are produced by electrically sintering a SiC-B C mixture under pressure in a press mould. Current is passed through the mould walls and the mixture, and the arrangement is designed to obey the following relationship: 1 / Sc x S / P = (35 to 70) x 102 where Sc is the cross-section of the mixture in sq. cms.; S is the cross section of the mould wall in sq. cms, and p is the resistivity of the mould material in ohm. cms.</p> |
