The device comprises a closed container with an out let at one end, an oxygen-producing candle inside the container fitted tight and provided with an axial passage to the outlet. A filter fills the passage and ignitable means are provided at the opposite end of the candle. The arrangement is such that the filter will be exposed. progressively to the oxygen produced by the candle the oxygen flowing out through the filter passage and the outlet.
