METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTION AND PROTECTION OF CONTENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow different kinds of Intellectual Property Management and Protection(IPMP) systems to access protected digital content, and to protect identical content by varied IPMP systems. SOLUTION: The method for distributing the content from a provider includes steps of: encoding the content to convert it into a content stream; encrypting the encoded content stream using a data encryption tool; generating a content ID corresponding to the content; generating IPMP tool information which includes the data necessary to decrypt the content stream encrypted by the data encryption tool; generating an IPMP tool information flag that indicates the presence of the IPMP tool information; and configuring a data stream by means of the IPMP tool information flag, followed by the IPMP tool information, the content ID, and the encrypted content stream.
