<p>A predetermined length of weft yarn is wound into an annular winding, pref. by a winding arm, onto a former, and the former is then positioned adjacent to the stationary shuttle bobbin so that the winding can be transferred from the former to the bobbin. Pref. the former has a sleeve which is movable along the former to force the winding onto the bobbin. The loose winding ensures that the yarn does not entangle and that it is not subject to excess tension during picking.</p> |
