<p>Heald retainer means adapted for use in heald knitting machines of the movable corrugated shuttle opening type, includes a plurality of elongated sliding members each including upper and lower portions having generally U-shaped cross section and an intermediate portion having a generally flat sided section. The intermediate portion of each member supports a pair of spaced suspender units having U-shaped cross section and including upwardly facing steps at the tips of the two opposed legs. The suspender units are mounted on the elongated sliding members such that the opposed legs of the U-shaped suspender units are in staggered relation to the legs of the adjacent and opposed units and make an angle of 0-20 degrees with respect to the normal plane to the flat plate portion of the sliding members. A heald is attached at its top and bottom ends to the opposed legs of the upper and lower suspender units.</p> |
