A coloured photosensitive material comprises a styrene and/or diene polymer randomly grafted with side chains contg. photopolymerisable double bond and colourant side chains. Used in prodn. of printing plates. The colourant is chemically attached to the photopolymerisable material and is not therefore removed by the developer which may be an organic solvent. The side chains contg. photopolymerisable double bond are pref. of formula: R(YC-CX)q-C(=O)-(R1)n- (where R is H, 1-10C aliphatic group, furfural or an aromatic gp. opt. substd. by alkyl, alkoxy or nitro; R1 is O, S or a hydrocarbon gp. opt. contg. O or S; X and Y are H, halogen, CN, NO2 or phenyl and n and q are 1 or 2). The colourant side chains are pref. anthraquinone, spiropyran or quinoline gps.
