<p>A fibrous sheet is produced by a wet process from an aqs. suspension contg. fibres (excluding asbestos), an organic binder, a flocculant and opt. a non-binding inorganic filler. According to the improvement the flocculant is introduced into the aq. suspension before and after introduction of the organic binder, the suspension contg. a base mixt. comprising (i) only the fibres or (ii) fibres plus the filler. Pref. total amt. of flocculant used is 0.02-10 pts. wt. of base mixt., 0.01-4 pts. being added before and 0.01-6 pts. being added after introduction of the binder. The sheet produced may be used for lining as a substitute for asbestos or as a support for printing, abrasives, laminates etc.</p> |
