<p>Stabilisers are mounted in pairs, on opposite sides of the hull and are operated by a shaft in a sealed housing. When not in use, they fold forwards, or rearwards into shallow recesses in the hull to reduce drag. The stabilisers are only required in heavy seas. For high speed travel in good seas they are folded against the hull by servo joints. For optimum effect they are positioned well below the waterline at the rear part of the hull.</p> |
