Boiler generating superheated steam, used partic, in a nuclear installation for prodn. of steam from heat supplied by the cooling water of a pressurised water reactor, comprises a cylindrical shell and a bundle of U-tubes. The shell is closed by two hemispherical ends. A tube plate forms with one of the ends a chamber sepd. by a partition into two collectors, respectively for inlet and discharge of a primary fluid. The prim. fluid, generally water, passes through the bundle of U-tubes each of which has two legs passing through the tube plate at the ends to open respectively into the inlet and outlet collectors. The shell has an inlet pipe for a secondary fluid, generally water to be vaporised by exchanging heat with the primary fluid through the walls of the U-tubes, and an opening for discharge of the vapour produced. The cylindrical shell has its axis horizontal, the tube-plate being vertical, so that the prim. fluid inlet collector is above the discharge collector. The tube bundle is associated within the shell with a transverse plate fixed to the tube plate and perpendicular to it, installed between the parallel legs and extending to near the U-shaped part of the tubes.
|
