7-Chloro-7,8-dihydro-7-oxo-pyrido[2,3]-d]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid derivatives are intermediates useful for the production of 7,8-dihydro-2,5,8-trisubstituted-7-oxo-pyrido[2,3-d]-pyrimidine-6-carb oxylic acid derivatives which in turn are gastric anti-secretory agents for treatment of peptic ulcer disease and generally anti-allergic agents useful in the treatment of atopic immediate hypersensitivity reactions.
