PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of skew distortion on a reproduction screen with simple constitution, by putting a leading and a succeeding playback video signal in phase through a variable delay line during an overlap period. CONSTITUTION:At outputs of synchronous separating circuits 10 and 13, horizontal synchronizing signals HA and HB reproduced video heads 2 and 3 appear respectively. Those signals HA and HB are phase-compared mutually by a phase comparator 11 during an overlap period from a video signal A to a video signal B, and the error voltage is applied to a variable delay device 7 through a gate holding circuit 14, a switch circuit 28, and a voltage-controlled oscillator 16, thus constituting a phase-lock loop by those circuits. During reproduction, the rotary phases of the heads 2 and 3 are detected at a part 17 to output a gate signal D. This signal D has a high level during the overlap period from the signal A to the signal B. Then, the phase-lock loop operates to synchronize the signal HB of the playback signal of the head 3 with the signal HA of the playback signal of the head 2. |
