The invention relates to a device for measuring the advance especially on tentering, drying and fixing machines, with a display unit. The object of the invention is to simplify the device of the type mentioned in the introduction and to make it operationally reliable. According to the invention, the display unit is fed by pulses from the scanner by way of a block unit which is connected to the block units performing the EXCLUSIVE function.
