PURPOSE:To prevent a recording material from being curled during recording and obtain recorded images with excellent water resistance, moisture resistance and preservation stability after recording, by a method wherein an ink-receiving layer is constituted of a hydrophilic and water-insoluble polymer material, and a water base ink is used. CONSTITUTION:The ink-receiving layer comprises a hydrophilic and water- insoluble polymer material, and a water base ink is used. the polymer material is a hydrophilic and water-insoluble block copolymer and/or graft copolymer which comprises hydrophilic polymer segments and hydrophobic polymer segments. A medium for the water base ink comprises water and a polyhydric alcohol. With the ink-receiving layer constituted of the hydrophilic and water- insoluble material, the resultant recording material will not be curled even on variations in the surrounding conditions, particularly, humidity, and even in hot and humid conditions, the ink-receiving layer retains the ink receptivity thereof, and the surface thereof does not become sticky. |
