PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide body manufacturing method capable of improving adhesion between a reflection preventing layer to which reflection preventing processing is applied and a base material and preventing the generation of micro-cracks in a light guide body 1, and to provide the light guide body 1 manufactured by the method and a face illumination device and a display device having high reliability and a long life. SOLUTION: Polycarbonate is used as the base material of the light guide body 1, reflection preventing processing 1C is applied to one face 1B of the body 1 and annealing processing is applied to the polycarbonate to be the base material as remaining stress removing processing.
