PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a technology capable of suppressing efficiency reduction or the like and keeping a preferable operating state, in an engine 100 comprising an igniting means 14 for igniting a mixture of fuel G and an oxygen-containing gas that is formed in a combustion chamber 7, a control gas supplying means 20 for supplying the control gas for varying a combustion speed of the mixture, and a combustion speed adjusting means 51 for adjusting the combustion speed of the mixture by adjusting a supply amount of the control gas supplied to the mixture by the control gas supplying means 20. SOLUTION: This engine has an ignition timing adjusting means 52 for adjusting the ignition timing of the igniting means 14 to the delay side for increasing the combustion speed of the mixture by the combustion speed adjusting means 51, or adjusting the ignition timing of the igniting means 14 to the early side for decreasing the combustion speed of the mixture by the combustion speed adjusting means 51. |
