PURPOSE:To execute surely a start and stop of a molten steel pouring operation and a control of a pouring rate for a molten steel vessel by using a stopper holding rod having a specified construction for a vertical moving of the stopper, which opens and shuts a molten steel pouring nozzle arranged at the vessel bottom. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel in a tundish 1 of a continuous casting is poured into a mold for the continuous casting through a submerged nozzle 4. The start and stop of the molten steel pouring operation and the control of molten steel pouring rate are executed surely by the opening and shutting at the inlet of nozzle 2 by the stopper 6 head and by an adjustment of a gap between the nozzle and the stopper head. For this purpose, the upper end of the stopper 6 is coupled by a connecting arm 8 in parallel with the upper end of the stopper holding rod 7 operated by a operating handle 34 attached to the outside of the tundish through an eccentric rod guide 62. The stopper head is exactly positioned at the inlet of the nozzle 3, and the start and stop of the molten steel pouring operation and the control of pouring rate are freely executed. |
