PURPOSE:To provide an external line redial function sending dial data after a pause time without using a pause key by providing each key so as to distinguish a conventional redial from an external line switching redial. CONSTITUTION:In lifting a handset 14 again and depressing an external line redial key 15b of a key input section 15, a microcomputer 12 reads changeover data to an external line stored in the 1st address of a redial area to apply switching control to the external line and to start the count using a counter. When the counter detects that the time required for the external line changeover of an exchange elapses, dial data stored in the 2nd the subsequent addresses in the redial area are read sequentially and outputted to a pulse generator or a tone generator 18 selected by the microcomputer 12. Thus, the dial data is converted into a pulse for a telephone line 17 and sent to the telephone line 17.
