PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and to simplify the constitution with the titled transformer by controlling both voltage and phase by a thyristor. CONSTITUTION:In this device a control transformer 12 is added newly together with a tap changer changed to a thyristor control type one. Then the level and the phase of the voltage Et produced at a series winding 13 of a series transformer 2 are changed by controlling the level and the polarity of the volt age E produced between terminal (k) and (l) or thyristor groups 17 and 18 by the ON/OFF control of a thyristor since the synthetic voltage of the in-phase component voltage and the rectangular component voltage is applied to the transformer 2. Thus the level and the phase difference theta of the voltage Es generated at the medium voltage side can be optionally controlled.
