PURPOSE:To prevent a module from coming off a printer during printing or transport, by a method wherein an operation portion for disengaging the font module latched on the printer is disposed inside a printer cover. CONSTITUTION:A font module 3 is inserted into a hole 6 provided on a part of a printer body cover 1. While being guided by a guide 10, the font module 3 is pressed into a printer until being latched with a pawl 14 provided on a lever 7 at a projection 4b provided thereon, thus being set on the printer. In this condition, the module 3 is held on the printer while being engaged with the pawl 14 at the projection 4b, thus having no possibility of being pulled out forcedly from the outside of the printer. Releasing of the engagement requires the operation of opening an access cover 2 and pressing down the lever 7. In this manner, the font module 3 is prevented from carelessly coming off.
