PURPOSE:To increase the recognizing ratio of a drawing and to attain a rapid recognition by giving the information designating the position of a symbol and the information displaying a shape to the symbol with the color different from an original drawing color and separating and recognizing the symbol from other graphic elements. CONSTITUTION:When a circuit chart is inputted to a computer, a '.' mark is added with a color tone different from the original drawing in the left downward direction of respective symbols of AND gates 1 and 4, inverters 2 and 3 and a D flip-flop 5 at the approximately center of respective symbols of a resistance 6, a capacitor 7 and an earth 8. To the symbol giving the '.'mark, the information showing the shape is also added by using a colored pencil, etc. These bits of information are read by using a color image scanner and the symbol is separated and recognized from other graphic elements.
