PURPOSE:To enlarge the return width of a tie bar to facilitate mold changing work, by attaching a movable tie plate directly to said tie bar according to the motion of said movable tie plate to connect and fix it thereto when clamping a mold. CONSTITUTION:A boost cylinder 66 is supplied with hydraulic oil to move a movable tie plate 58 to the side of a fixed tie plate 54, and a stop ring 78 provided on a tie bar 64 is attached to the opening end of a guide pipe 82 provided on a through-hole 71 of said movable tie plate 58, just before completion of closing a fixed mold 52 and a movable mold 56. At this time, a half nut 76 provided on said movable tie plate 58 is moved by a transfer means 80 in the direction nearly perpendicular to the shaft center of said through-hole 74, so that it can be engaged with a screw portion 72 formed on said tie bar 64. Therefore, said tie bar 64 can be easily connected and fixed to said movable tie plate 58. |
