The paint remover of the invention is of the basic type and uses a basic product such as sodium carbonate, a binder, such as calcium hydroxide, an inert substance, such as calcium carbonate and a hygroscopic inert substance, such as paper pulp or cellulose. Like all the alkaline paint removers, it is non-toxic; however, its action is easily controllable visually by the operator. The fundamental characteristic of the invention is that it includes within it the hygroscopic inert substance, which is able to maintain the basic action for as long as possible, since it does not allow easy evaporation. The composition of the invention is capable of operating on surfaces of any type such as oil-painted walls, statues or other objects painted with distemper, and wooden ceilings repainted with lime and casein. |
