A machine for data recognition, including handwriting, and for acquisition of images, either from the front or the back side of documents, having means of feeding 4 the latter from an entry station 1 to transport means 8 which move through a reading station 7 and comprising means 9 for picking up the documents, able to transport them to an exit and classification station 10. The means of transport 8 comprise a first conveyor belt 8a, 8b, motorised independently with respect to the pick-up means 9, which comprise a second and a third conveyor belt 15, 16, in turn independently motorised 13, 14. The reading station 7 comprises an upper objective lens 19a and a lower one 19b relative to the conveyor belt 8a, 8b, pointing at stripes illuminated by bulbs 17a, 17b, axially offset, and performing a simultaneous scanning there of the respective surfaces of each document advancing between them. The machine allows for the simultaneous reading of documents from the front and the back and furthermore the manipulation of the exiting documents and the classification is independent of the manipulation of the documents when being read, thus substantially reducing the overall time for reading large numbers of documents. <IMAGE> |
