ADSORBING MONOMOLECULAR FILM AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbing monomolecular film excellent in water-and oil-repellent properties and clouding and contaminating proofness by a method wherein such a film is formed through a chemical combination of a base material and the adsorbing monomolecular film consisting of at least two kinds of molecules having different molecular chain lengths attained by a covalent bond containing -Si- group to bond the film to the surface of the base material directly or through its inner layer film. CONSTITUTION:At least two kinds of halogenated silane surface-active adsorbent containing fluorine group and having different molecular chain lengths or a nonaqueous solution of alkoxysilane surface-active adsorbent is brought into contact with the surface of a base material 1 having an active hydrogen group such as hydroxyl group, amino group and imino group on its surface or with such a group added thereto to wash off unreacted monomers therefrom, allow such adsorbents to react with water or moisture in air and produce an intermolecular dehydration, whereby an adsorbing monomolecular film excellent in water- and oil-repellent properties and clouding and contaminating proofness is obtained.
