PURPOSE:To allow a listener (experiencing person) to recognize a sound with a sense of reality by allowing the listener to listen to the sound image of an arbitrary sound by making it follow the movement of the head of the listener and localizing it. CONSTITUTION:The position of the head of a listener 5 is detected by a position detector 3, and applied to a sound controller 2. The sound controller 2 searches a position relation between the position (direction) of the head of the listener 5 detected by the detector 3 and sound reproducers 4a and 4d, and applies an effect such as a sound pressure rate, delay, and frequency conversion to sound information generated by a sound generator 1 or a sound collector 1', and outputs it to sound reproducers 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d, based on the position relation among the above mentioned position of the head of the listener 5, sound reproducers 4a and 4d, and arbitrary sound generating position. The sound image is made to follow to the position and direction of the head of the listener 5, and normally positioned, so that the listener 5 can be allowed to recognize the sound with the sense of reality. Also, a video synchronizing with the sound is displayed at a video generator 7, so that the sense of reality can be further improved. |
