The device has several clamps (12) attached by a support arm (30) and guide member (66) to revolving elements (28) which are driven along a closed revolving path and are mounted spaced behind each other in the revolving direction (U). The support arm and guide member are controlled separately by a control device in order to swivel the clamps about the attachment on the support arm independently of the movement of the latter. During each movement past a supply station (16) the clamps seize a product (18) moving it to a transfer area (20) where it is delivered to the processing device (22). At the supply station (16) the control device moves the support arm in a direction opposite the revolving direction to reduce the relative speed between clamp and product being seized.
