HYDROPHILIC FIBER SHEET AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide sufficient hydrophilic properties by performing low temp. plasma treatment on a porous fiber sheet prepd. by using a hydrophobic fiber under a specified condition. CONSTITUTION:At least a part of the constitutional fiber of a non-woven fabric sheet, etc., is treated with low temp. plasma under a condition with a product of high frequency output treating density of 5-15MHz and treating time of 0.1-50W.sec/cm<2> and a gas pressure of 0.01-10Torr to make it hydrophilic. A porous fiber sheet provided with a hydrophilic property wherein the water absorption rate is at least 10mm per 2min when one end of the sheet is immersed in the pure water under an atmosphere of the temp. of 25% and the humidity of 60% without changing characteristics such as structure and strength the sheet originally has, can be obtd, thereby.
