In this way, in particular in the case of a large number of control devices (14), the number of constantly switched-on illumination elements is reduced in order to reduce the distraction and dazzling of the driver. If the driver wishes to change or read off a specific control device, he only needs to move his hand into the region of the proximity switch (15) in order also to switch on the other illumination elements (18-20).
