PURPOSE:To repeatedly perform the transfer of a thermal transfer recording medium many times, in the thermal transfer recording medium for a line head having a support and an ink layer, by adding an oil component to the ink forming the ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium 10 is formed by successively laminating a support 1, a conductive layer 2 and an oil layer 3. In this case, an oil component is added to the ink of the ink layer 3 in an amt. of 5-40wt.% and the ink layer 3 is formed on a porous film in such a state that the ink thereof is infiltrated in the film. Further, the medium 10 is used in intermittent recording type thermal transfer recording. The oil component is selected from at least one kind of a component selected from fatty acid ether, phthalic ester, trimellitic ester, higher alcohol and natural animal and vegetable oils. By this constitution, in hot-melt type thermal transfer recording using a line head, the transfer of the medium 10 is repeatedly performed many times. |
