PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically switching a terminating call in Internet connection mode and a method of setting and canceling the automatic terminating call switching are provided which automatically performs setting and canceling a terminating call that was conventionally carried out manually. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically switching a terminating call in Internet connection mode includes an initial value setting unit(101), an automatic call switching setting/canceling unit(102), a modem(104), a phone connecting unit(109), the first switch(107), a sound converter(110) and the second switch(108). The initial value setting unit sets the phone number of a telephone switch performing terminating call switching, the phone number of an Internet service provider and automatic/manual mode. The automatic call switching setting/canceling unit transmits the phone number of the phone switch, terminating call request data and data corresponding to the phone number of the ISP according to the initial values in case of connection with the Internet, cancels the terminating call switching when Internet service is finished. The telephone connecting unit makes a call with the phone number of the telephone switch. The first switch is connected to the telephone connecting unit to transmit data of the setting/canceling unit to the telephone switch through a network. The sound converter converts an analog voice signal into a digital signal, modulates the digital signal and compresses the modulated signal to convert the signal into packet data in case of transmission of the voice signal. The sound converter recovers the packet data into the analog signal in case of the reception of the voice signal. The second switch connects a telephone to the sound converter in the Internet connection mode but connects the telephone to the telephone connecting unit in other modes.
