PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method and device for accurately excluding documents from a local cache memory in browser environment according to the traffic of a usable cache memory and a browser. SOLUTION: Documents which do not have close reference among documents 206 to 210 saved in the cache memory are all gathered by garbage collection. Documents which were requested last are saved in the cache memory together with the close reference and not collected until the close reference is abolished. The close reference is abolished when document identifiers relating the documents 206 to 210 saved in the cache memory become absent in a document stack 202. According to the depth of the document stack 202, only the documents which were requested last are continuously saved in the cache memory.
