PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical pulse generator which has a simple structure and is capable of surely generating high-voltage pulses of short widths, for instance generating very short pulses whose widths are of the order of microseconds. SOLUTION: A cylindrical pulse generator is composed of a primary single- turn coil 1 where an input voltage is applied and which is formed of an aluminum foil or a metal foil or other conductor foils wound like a cylinder only by a single turn, and a secondary coil 3 formed of an enameled wire or a copper wire or other conductor wires wound by a certain number of turns inside the primary single-turn coil 1.
