PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for sending a rearrangement information file together with a repaired detector and eliminate the possibilities that the media, including the rearrangement information file, are damaged. SOLUTION: By initializing the pixels of an imaging array, determining a signal level for uncut data lines, measuring the signal level of each data line, and determining if the signal level for each data line is equivalent to the uncut data line signal level, cuts (34) in the data lines (20) made during test and repair in the image pickup array (10) which is made up of an array of pixels (14), and the user of spare contacts (40) within the image pickup array for recovery of cut data lines (38) are detected.
