The electronically monitored licence plate for all types of vehicles is intended to solve the problems occurring from the use of common metal license plates. It comprises transparent sheet made of polycarbonate 3mm thick (P1) and non-transparent sheet of the same thickness made of PVC (P2). The license number is printed on highly reflective material which is placed between the two sheets (X2). With a digitally handled tool-machine, a recess is made on one of the two sheets. In that recess, a PVC card is placed (K1), which has a wireless communication integrated circuit (C2). Coded and encrypted data certifying the uniqueness of the owner and vehicle are recorded on this card. Also, a 24-digit alphanumeric code which includes data on the issuance of the license plate is recorded. The encryption algorithm is DES III which is internationally recognized. From the moment that the vehicle and owner data are recorded, it is not possible to change, add or remove them. Then, the two sheets are soldered with a high-frequency method and an aluminium profile (P3), securing and maintaining the license plate dry, is placed on the perimeter of the license plate. The data recorded on the card, which has been incorporated in the license plate, are read by special readers, which have a liquid crystal display (LCD). Readers can decode the card and read the data from a distance of up to 10 centimetres with no contact.<IMAGE> |
