PURPOSE: To enable a user to fetch information desired from a portable telephone without causing a stress to the user. CONSTITUTION: At a telephone shop, a portable telephone and a personal computer are connected, and then an initial menu writing software is started up in a personal computer. First, when an initial menu display command of the portable telephone is outputted (S1), an information menu screen is displayed on a screen of the personal computer (S2). Each of information on this menu screen is composed of characters linked to a file of a service center of the information. At the telephone shop, each of information in the menu and contents of its detailed information are explained by using a brochure (document) or a guidance screen in the personal computer. The user selects information to be registered in the initial menu screen of the portable telephone. When the information selected by the user is inputted in the personal computer at the telephone shop (S4), the information is stored in the personal computer (S5). When all the desired information is input and write is instructed (S6), the display order of all the information and an information write command to write the information to the portable telephone are outputted from the personal computer (S7).
